Exam Overview

A CMA mandated exam that is provided in cooperation with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). The International Introduction to Securities and Investment Certificate is a foundational certificate offered by CISI to those who wish to work in the capital markets. It covers a number of related topics such as introduction to the financial services sector, the economic environment, assets and capital markets, investment funds, regulations and ethical principles as well as other financial products. Note: This certificate consists of two exams, and to obtain the CME certificate, you must pass both parts of the exam (A-B).

Target Audience

Passing the “Introduction to Securities and Investment” exam is required of all persons to be registered in all their job categories with the CMA except for the category (Compliance Officers and/or Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing), (Securities Brokers), (People to be registered under management activity) and (corporate finance specialists) starting from February 1, 2023.
