TFA is a government entity with an independent legal and administrative status. The academy’s major goal is to develop capabilities of human capital working in the financial sector institutions, especially those operating in banking, financing, insurance and capital market industries.

The Financial Academy provides a broad spectrum of specialized training programs, covering various areas such as strategy and planning, compliance and anti-financial crimes, credit, innovation and digital transformation, trading and investing, and many others.

Yes, the academy holds professional exams in cooperation with specialized local and international institutions such as the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), and EUROMONEY.

Exams are conducted daily except on Friday.

Some of the exams are solely conducted by the academy; some others are carried out in partnership with specialized local, regional or global partners. Still, a number of the exams are administered in cooperation with expert institutions.

A partnership means that the academy has contributed to producing the learning materials, the question bank, or both, giving TFA the capacity to receive the feedback on such content. An example of this is the partnership between The Financial Academy (TFA) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

At present, TFA is offering numerous professional exams and certificates in partnership or cooperation with other institutions. Examples include: The International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management, offered in partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI); and the Corporate Finance Technical Foundations (CME-5A), delivered in partnership with the CISI and a number of global centers of expertise. Yes, some exams are offered in Arabic and English, in order to cater for the needs of the trainees and the financial sector professionals.

The Financial Academy offers a wide range of certificates that covers different financial industries like banking, capital market, insurance and financing.

The target audience varies depending on the exam. For instance, the Individuals Financing Fundamentals Professional Exam is meant for bankers, while the General Securities Qualification Exam (CME 1) targets capital market employees. Not all exams are mandatory. Regulators - such as Saudi Central Bank, Capital Market Authority (CMA) and Insurance Authority (IA) - have the right to require a certain category of financial sector employees to obtain a specific certificate.

The Professional Certificates Support Program is an initiative offered by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) to reimburse the costs of obtaining professional certificates, subject to the Fund's approved terms and conditions.
